BBDO New York wins most awards including:
Best of Show - Broadcast and The Phil Dusenberry Public Service Award

BBDO, Ogilvy, McCann Erickson and Publicis shared the spotlight at the 2009 New York ADDY Awards. For the second year in a row BBDO New York won the most awards with a Best of Show Broadcast for an eBay campaign and the Phil Dusenberry Public Service Award for the Ad Council effort on behalf of the Iraq and Afghanistan Veterans of America (IAVA).

Ogilvy New York took Best of Show Print for IBM "Water Jugs."

The judges also created several special awards. A Judges' Award for Simplicity of Execution went to McCann Erickson for an Avis television campaign, "The Other Car." A second Judges' Award for Copy was presented to Publicis for a print campaign for Whirlpool/Kitchen Aid, "Nourish your Soul." The final Judges' Award was given to BBDO for Art Direction for an AT&T print campaign , "Team USA Sound Track."

Judge Joyce Carroll of Ogilvy said "The work in the Internet category was the best in years. It was a joy to judge."

Jason Savage of Publicis, a first-time judge was also impressed with the broadcast entries.

In light of the current economic climate there will be a combined event highlighting the New York and District Two ADDYs, the second tier in the 3-tier ADDY awards, later in the Spring.

The New York ADDY Awards are the first of a three-tiered national competition conducted annually by the American Advertising Federation (AAF). This competition is the industry's largest and most representative competition for creative excellence. Entry into the ADDYS supports the entire industry because AAF in its local and district membership uses the proceeds to enhance advertising through internships, diversity awards, advocacy groups and advertising education.

Winners of the New York ADDYS are automatically advanced to the District level. Winners then become eligible for the National AAF competition.
